A note from our Event Co-Chairwomen –

Casino Royale, the signature fundraiser of the year held on Friday, February 24th, was a fabulous success! The event raised over $50,000 in profits! This money will go straight to the Acacia Elementary School Foundation, funding the educational enrichment of the 650 children at Acacia School. Thank you to the 151 Acacia parents, friends, and community members who attended this event – we were thrilled at the turn out! This elegant and magical evening was full of energy, enthusiasm, and a wonderful sense of community.

During the event everyone excitedly bid on auction items - the Kohlenberger Family is very excited to have won their personal parking spot in the Acacia parking lot for one year! We then sat down to a lovely dinner, watched the premiere of the Acacia Elementary School Foundation video, and heard engaging speeches from our principal Dr. Whisnant, the Foundation President Michelle Knowles, our PTA President Michele Garden, and Second Grade Teacher Mr. Ratzlaff. Acacia parent Anthony Gaglio was the master of ceremonies, and we had a very entertaining and humorous auctioneer, Jim Nye. Nearly every teacher was in attendance.

Part of the evening was dedicated to “Fund-a-Need,” identified as a library make-over and securing the Accelerated Reader program for next year. A short video about the needs of our current library was shown, and after bidding, a total of $16,350 was raised for these needs. Our Acacia children can look forward to amazing library enhancements in the coming months!

The evening concluded with dancing, music, and Casino gaming tables. There was a sense of true joy that we had come together as a community to support such a valuable cause, and at such an urgent time. Our Casino committee is already excitedly discussing possibilities for next year’s event, and we welcome your involvement! We look forward to seeing you next year at an event that you won’t want to miss!
